Context

SDS installed, on behalf of John Turner Construction Group, a GEOlight® surface water attenuation tank and Weholite flow control chamber at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Project detail

SDS worked with Liverpool-based civil engineering consultancy AJP Ltd and specialist healthcare architects Gilling Dod to design and approve a bespoke solution for the new 3-storey building, comprising a 58m3 capacity GEOlight® geo-cellular attenuation tank and Weholite manhole incorporating a flow control device.

The system was installed under land that was previously occupied by the former laundry building, which has been demolished, and made good for use as a supporting staff car park with 76-spaces.

Together with a new substation, two generators and their associated diesel fuel tanks, which had sat within the footprint of the new laundry building, have been relocated to a new area of hardstanding adjacent to the new car park, adding further importance to an efficient and highly effective stormwater storage and dispersal system.
