The project was carried out on brownfield site within a residential area where the grass open space area was surrounded with pedestrian footpaths and high-density housing.

Project design and planning

We helped to develop the design with Aberdeen City Council and proposed value engineering suggestions to provide savings. This included finalizing the proposed finished levels and setting out to provide a cost-effective solution to fit in all the sporting requirements in a contained area.

The site is in a built-up area and is on the main access route to the local Academy so site security and safe pedestrian access past the site was of paramount importance.

We ensured that the works were kept secure and safe pedestrian routes were provided.

Project elements

The works comprised constructing a 1186 m2, 3G Cruyff Court plus a 1880 m2 MUGA incorporating Basketball Hoops and line markings for mini tennis, dodge ball and a running track. Fencing and ‘on demand’ floodlighting was also provided.
