Overview

Woodscape was contracted to produce a range of street furniture for One City Park, a Grade A office development in Bradford city centre. The products combine style with functionality in this picturesque setting.

Context

One City Park marks Bradford’s first Grade A office development in over two decades. Situated at the heart of the city, this contemporary project offers state-of-the-art office spaces alongside an extension of City Park, a locale boasting several architectural gems including St George’s Hall, City Hall, and the recently inaugurated music venue, @bradfordlive. Notably, the park features the UK’s largest urban water feature.

Designed as a mixed-use development, One City Park aims to seamlessly blend features catering to both office occupants and park visitors, fostering an inviting and tranquil atmosphere for relaxation amidst the urban hustle.

Challenge

Drawing from the success of furnishing Beech Grove Plaza at Leeds University, Woodscape was entrusted with crafting a range of products for One City Park, combining style with functionality in this picturesque city centre setting.

Utilising Naturally Very Durable FSC Certified Hardwood and its five axis CNC machines, Woodscape crafted all of the required products for the project, harmonising with the environment and offering a natural contrast to the project’s stone and stainless steel elements.

Three elegantly-curved halo seats with partial backrests and armrests were also designed to offer alternative seating options within the park. Demonstrating Woodscape’s expertise in tailored solutions, these seats feature a custom steel structure for enhanced durability, meeting the demand for slender legs and narrow timber slats, resulting in sleek and enduring modern seating, poised to enrich the park experience for decades to come.
