Softwood Pine, Responsibly Sourced

All of our pine is harvested and sourced from sustainable forests in the first instance, with FSC Certified products available upon request. Thermo pine’s unique thermal modifications extend the lifespan of the product by increasing the durability of the softwood boards.

In addition, the thermally treated wood is environmentally friendly, undergoing a thermal process that requires no use of chemicals, and results in no harmful byproducts.

Softwood Aesthetics With A Durable Finish

Sourced within Europe and Asia, Scots Pine (also known as Pinus Sylvestris) is a coniferous tree from the pine family. Known for its mechanical properties, Pine is highly sought after due to its evenly spaced annual rings, which provide the characteristic knots found in pine wood.

Treated through a unique thermal process, the modified pine is perfectly suited to the process, significantly bolstering the woods durability and finishing the material in a beautiful warm golden-brown.

Easy-To-Maintain Pine Decking & Cladding

Thermo Pine provides a naturally warm golden-brown tone which makes it perfect for modern-day decking and cladding. Like any natural wood material, the surface of the boards will fade to a natural grey over time, a process which occurs when wood is exposed to sunlight.

Depending on the location of the site and the levels of UV it is subjected to, this process can be quickened or slowed and will begin from the moment of installation. Whilst the durability of the boards is not affected, maintenance treatments are available to maintain the deeper tones.

A Finish Designed To Last

By design, Thermo Pine is highly durable and resistant to most wear and tear. Through a unique thermal treatment, The Outdoor Deck Company’s Pine wood finishes can achieve the highest durability class in the EU.

The thermal process also lowers the moisture absorption rate within the wood, which mitigates the side-affects such as warping, shrinking and expansion of the boards. Sustainably sourced, Thermo Pine is the ideal decking or cladding material for those looking for a softwood sustainable solution that is designed to stand the test of time.
