Context
Christie outdoor barbeques were installed on Bournemouth's beachfront during a massive regeneration project as part of BPC Council’s summer readiness plans, which aim to support visitors spending time in the area.
Unlike domestic or commercial products, Christie communal BBQs are explicitly designed for public outdoor use. They are safe, reliable and energy-efficient while providing a great cooking experience. These electric BBQs are free to use and provide a great way for friends and families to gather at the beach and enjoy the outdoor space.
By providing safe cooking facilities for people, the Council hopes to reduce the number of disposable BBQs left on the beach, which pose an environmental danger and a safety risk to others.
Testimonial
“BCP Council (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole) purchased 27 Christie electric barbecue units through their UK partner, All Urban. These barbecues have been installed at various locations across our 15 mile stretch of coastline for locals and visitors to enjoy, free of charge. The electric barbecues offer a safe, waste free and environmentally friendly way to cook.”
– Nickie Khosravi, Destination Development Officer, Destination and Culture, BCP Council
Comment
“Communities across Australia have been getting to know each other by sharing food around our barbecues for over fifty years. They are a great way to activate and enjoy public outdoor spaces. We are all aware of the health benefits of being outside, and our products bring people together outdoors in a safe, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable way. We are very excited by this initiative from BCP Council, leading the way for the British public to enjoy this great Australian tradition.”
– Paul Conradie, Head of Sales, Christie Barbeques
