Streetpod Sold Secure Diamond rated cycle parking has been installed at Lewisham Hospital, enabling staff and visitors to lock their bikes with confidence.
Challenge
In response to the increasing demand for secure and convenient bicycle parking, the hospital sought to provide additional facilities in its all new Healing Garden. Delivered as part of the Healing Gardens Programme, the garden was a collaboration between the RHS and the NHS to create green spaces at hospitals around the UK where “staff and patients can reflect and recharge”. The hospital aimed to provide a tranquil outdoor space for patients, visitors and staff to enjoy, with a focus on accessibility and sustainability.
Solution
Cyclepods proposed the installation of Streetpod cycle parking, a secure and stylish product that offers maximum bike protection for public and open spaces where bike security is a concern. Streetpod features a curved design and robust build, ensuring durability and security for bicycles. The Streetpod has been rated Sold Secure Diamond, the highest level of bicycle security, is Secured by Design accredited and officially recommended by UK Police through the ‘Police Preferred Specification’ programme, meaning staff and visitors can lock their bikes with confidence while at the hospital and gardens.

Healing Gardens
This is the first of several Healing Gardens as part of a national programme to create green spaces where staff and patients can reflect and recharge. The Lewisham Healing Garden will provide the blueprint for further gardens built as part of the programme at hospitals around the UK. The RHS wants the Healing Gardens created to be hopeful places that have a transformational impact on the wellbeing of the communities they sit within.
