Challenge

Langley Design was tasked with providing bespoke external enclosures and picnic tables for Benniman's Worcester Six Business Park project.

Solution

Outdoor enclosures

Two Sheldon bin stores (SBS302) were manufactured from Douglas Fir; the lighter timber stands out against the industrial backdrop creating a soft aesthetic.

Langley Design added insect hotels to the bin stores to help improve the biodiversity aspect.

The design was to be mirrored on the condenser / gas enclosure, so cladding was added to the blockwork in the same style as the condenser enclosure.

To further enhance this, a sedum roof was supplied for the top of the gas meter enclosure.

Picnic tables

The client wanted to make use of the external spaces so Langley also manufactured Sheldon picnic tables (SPT315) for the site. Some tables were produced at a longer length to enable wheelchair users to socialise and dine outdoors with their colleagues.

Outcome

Screening such as bin stores is designed to remove unsightly, overflowing litter areas; the added benefit of having made-to-order units is that their appearance can be customised.
