Bespoke tree anchoring solution - Regent St, London
Platipus was approached by Michael Gargan from Street Tree Ltd to provide a bespoke anchoring solution for a variety of semi-mature trees in Regent Street, London.
These trees were to be installed into special temporary planters for an 18-month period as part of a greening program by the Crown Estate. Designed by Chris Stanton from BDP, the trees would need to be anchored to the service below the planters.
Solution
Due to the positioning of the trees in a busy pedestrian environment, an additional leg to the tree anchoring system was added to ensure the safety of the tree. The RF2RS 4 LEG system, incorporating expanding eyebolts, was chosen as the most effective solution for the project.
