Two FRP bridges for cycle path - Elan Valley
Two FRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymer) cycle bridges at 4.8m and 7.4m long by 2.85m wide were installed by CTS Bridges, using the client's own plant, on a new Active Travel Scheme on the Elan Valley cycle path in Powys, Wales. The bridges have 1.4m-high parapets, painted in Graphite Grey to blend into the locality. The deck has pultruded FRP planks

Two FRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymer) cycle bridges at 4.8m and 7.4m long by 2.85m wide were installed by CTS Bridges, using the client's own plant, on a new Active Travel Scheme on the Elan Valley cycle path in Powys, Wales.
The bridges have 1.4m-high parapets, painted in Graphite Grey to blend into the locality.
The deck has pultruded FRP planks overlaid with CTS's Hi-Grip Plus non-slip surfacing to provide a safe riding surface for cycle use.
FRP bridges are lightweight making installation easier in areas where access for large plant is difficult.
