Context

NBB Outdoors replaced an old shelter with a colourful Winterbourne freestanding shelter at Dundale Primary, a thriving community school that places a strong emphasis on inclusion for all. The school's vision was to be a place where all children thrive, love learning and develop resilient foundations for success in life as positive members of society.

Challenge

The school wanted to replace an existing shelter that was no longer fit for purpose.

Solution

Following a comprehensive site survey by NBB's experienced team, the original requirements for the shelter were adapted to suit further needs of the school.

A Winterbourne freestanding shelter with 28 multicoloured polycarbonate glazing panels for the roof was decided upon, with a Blue RAL5002 frame to fit in with the existing area. It was constructed from high-quality sturdy steel and measures 9.2 (l) x 8.9 (d) x 3.5 / 4m (h) at the highest point. It was agreed that the shelter would overhang the school buildings, enabling rainwater to fall into existing guttering, rather than requiring further gutter installation.

As part of the installation the old shelter was dismantled and safely removed by NBB Outdoors.

Outcome

Dundale Primary & Nursery is very happy with its new walkway.
