- Play Cube Activity Trail
Challenge
AMV Playground Solutions was approached by Mrs Amanda Dodd, Head Teacher at Culcheth Community Primary School in Warrington and invited to provide a solution for the replacement of an existing wooden trim trail that had become unsafe to use.
The option to replace rather than repair (and replace with steel) was decided in order to ensure the longevity of the play equipment, as well as avoiding further ongoing maintenance costs, and the inevitable deterioration of the timber in future.
AMV was chosen from a number of options by the School Council, who wanted play equipment with a diverse design and product offering as well as good guarantees.
Solution
After a site survey and detailed conversation with the school's staff, a scaled plan view layout drawing was created, along with a 3D render of the proposed solution, which received positive feedback and from staff and children.
A multicoloured custom AMV Cube Trail was designed, manufactured and installed at the school and offers a multitude of activities in a small amount of space, encouraging exercise and problem-solving. Its minimal frame design allows for high visibility throughout to ensure that the children are able to play safely.
The vibrant powder-coated finish will guarantee longevity and safe play time for years to come.
The bespoke Play Cube activity trail incorporates:
Traverse climbing walls
Balance beam
Twirling bars
Chin up / hang tough bars
Hanging trapeze monkey crossing
Swinging traverse
Various other rope crossing challenges
Outcome
The bespoke Cube Activity Trail delivers massive play value in a smart, space-saving design. It offers a varied array of challenging obstacles in a safe environment, inviting pupils to explore and grow in confidence through physical play.
AMV's 25-year warranty against rust and corrosion means Culcheth Primary School has peace of mind that its investment will last a very long time.
Testimonial
The children absolutely love it. They have really been inspired to try a variety of different activities, they are quite creative in the way that they use the equipment. Because it is spread out we have been able to have more children to play safely under the current circumstances. It’s absolutely brilliant equipment!
