Challenge

Langley Design was approached by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council to supply seating solutions for a bare, under-utilised space outside the cafe at Rother Valley Country Park. Furniture was needed that could be placed on the paving and would be wheelchair-accessible.

Solution

Langley Design altered the design of its Sheldon picnic table (SPT311), extending the table top by 500mm, allowing all users to enjoy the glorious views whilst relaxing or having a spot of lunch.

As this was an existing paved area, the company utilised its plinth-mounted fixing option for all the furniture. The picnic table sets require no foundations, so can simply be resin bonded to a firm level engineered base. Offering a robust and long-lasting finish the Treated Class 4 Redwood timber tops are a durable and cost-effective answer for the Café’s users.

3 picnic sets were supplied and installed in total.
