Project detail
The bespoke seating and bar table were designed specifically for the location, to fit around 3 large and established trees, taking into account their size and positioning within the plaza as well as pedestrian routes around the trees and across the site.
The seating and table are situated on the main route between the mainline train station and the city centre’s retail and dining districts.
As the location is a high-traffic area, high-wear materials and finishes were chosen with low maintenance requirements. This will ensure the seating and table will keep helping the area look its best for the 30+ year design life of the products.
Outcome
The new seating provides an improved sense of place and will increase dwell time of a busy thoroughfare, supporting shops, entertainment venues, and the varied local street food vendors situated on the site.
