Overview

Addagrip's BBA-approved Addaset resin bound permeable surfacing system was installed at the award-winning Eco Village in St Fagans, Cardiff.

Addagrip approved contractor Thortech Ltd worked with LivEco, leading exponents of ecological and low-energy housebuilding, refurbishments, and retrofits, on the new development named as ‘Great House Farm’.

Surfacing requirements

In keeping with the requirement for high-quality materials, the Thortech team installed BBA-approved Addaset resin bound surfacing to create smooth, decorative, hardwearing, permeable pathways and access roads across the village.

A total of 325m2 of a 6mm blend New Scandinavian Pearl was installed for Phase 1 of the project to provide a stunning natural aggregate finish with excellent porosity.

The Phase 1 resin bound surfacing installation was completed in January 2023.

The Addaset resin bound system also carries a BRE Environmental Product Declaration.

“The development showcases how developers can go over and above what is required to deliver new homes here in Wales which are as sustainable and ecologically sound as possible”.
