Following a competitive tender, isGroup was appointed as Principal Contractor by Chelmsford City Council to manufacture and install a wayfinding signage solution to aid navigation throughout the town centre in conjunction with leading environmental designers Placemarque.

The solution from isGroup included 11 Way2Go Fingerpost Signs and 11 Wayfinding Totem Signs installed around the city centre. Working with partners, Placemarque, isGroup selected a series of high-quality materials. The monoliths were manufactured to Placemarque’s design and to BS EN 1090-2 standard, using a combination of stainless steel and toughened glass to incorporate the internally illuminated wayfinding maps.

In addition, each monolith sign incorporated highly durable vitreous enamel to display chosen colours to clearly identify zonal areas within the city as well as various photographs of local landmarks, captured in sepia.

Being in a city centre, the isGroup worked closely with the city’s highways department to obtain permits and provide RAMS for the installation schedule. Our installation team consisted of Streetwise Supervisors and operatives to ensure a high standard of health and safety adhering to legal guidelines.
