Context

The Wexford bespoke feature seat and planter unit was an idea initialised by Wexford Town Council to close off Monck Street as part of a pedestrianisation project. The unit needed to provide some much needed seating and the option for small planting.

Project detail

The Council issued a drawing via its contractor Kirwans and, with some final touches to be added by Public Outdoor Creations' design team due to undulating surface areas, the final design was approved and put into production.

The unit was manufactured in 4 sections for easy assembly on site by Kirwans.

The feature seat incorporates some small planter sections and stepped down seating on both sides and, as an addition, a matching planter was produced to incorporate a tree that will provide some gentle shade in the summer, once it reaches maturity.
