Context
Island View is a retirement village located in the residential suburb of Beggarwood in Basingstoke. This sought-after location is close to local amenities and is surrounded by beautiful countryside, whilst also offering excellent transport links across the South East of England. Providing generously sized one and two bed apartments alongside a stunning home-owners lounge and landscaped communal gardens & courtyard, Island View delivers a vibrant and active setting for its residents.
Work undertaken
Langley Design was engaged by McCarthy & Stone to design, manufacture and install the resident’s on-site mobility scooter store.
Modifying the SPG316 Sheldon Buggy Store, Langley added an apex roof to the unit to compliment the wider design on site.
Manufactured from sustainably sourced class 4 treated redwood and offering a durable yet cost effective solution, the store provided ample space for the safe storage and charging of the user’s mobility scooters.
Enclosed on three sides in elegant timber cladding and topped with a profiled metal roof the unit also offered protection from the elements.
Langley in addition provided our popular Malford MCR200 cycle hoops for use within the store & elsewhere on site, and also provided a modified version of these to act as parking bay markers. Provided in a protective galvanised finish to ensure a long life span, Langley cycle hoops can also be powder coated to match any projects specific colour scheme.
