Ustigate designed and built a high-quality illuminated plaza water feature with 64 dancing water jets for Southend-on-Sea. The City Beach Fountains are located on the central seafront promenade.
Project detail
Ustigate carried out exhaustive mock-up and testing to achieve the most effective water delivery and lighting system.
The plaza fountain has 64 jets, sequenced in groups of eight to provide a co-ordinated rise and fall display mimicking the waves. The LED colour-changing lighting links the feature to the promenade masts.
The system includes a PWTAG-compliant recirculation system to enable Southend City Council to recycle one body of water for the feature, for visitors to safely interact with the water. Ustigate utilised the existing underground w/c’s to accommodate the plant room with both the large reservoir tanks and water treatment system.
