A lack of suitable or clean facilities available to truck drivers is being named as one of the reasons for a decline in the number of UK HGV drivers. So much so that UK Haulier has started a campaign - #RESPECTTHEDRIVER - to highlight treatment of the driving community.

Also, online publication The House highlighted this in a recent article in which they explain that Britain is notorious for its scarce and overpriced motorway services, its limited number of truck stops, lack of accessible toilets and showers, and absence of restaurants offering healthy food choices.

They also explain that truckers are forced to spend their rest times in narrow laybys being rocked in their cab by passing vehicles, or seek some quieter place for overnight parking in industrial areas – in both cases without access to welfare facilities. More and more councils, from Kent to Cumbria, have introduced parking restrictions, further limiting the pool of accessible overnight stops.

Portable buildings offer a a solution that are quicker than traditional builds and here at Cleveland Sitesafe Ltd you can be sure of our highly secure, anti-vandal design, ideal for the often isolated truckstop facilities. Products range from secure unmanned toilets and showers to more equipped welfare cabins.
