Overview
Langley Design worked with Stepnell on two separate projects for The Cornerstone Academy (formerly Carter Community School) in Poole - an outdoor dining canopy, and covered walkway.
Work undertaken
First project - 2020
In 2020, Langley Design provided an outdoor dining canopy manufactured from timber and galvanised steel. This style of unit offers a much more aesthetically-pleasing visual when compared against all-steel counterparts. The timber softens the metal and the school is left with a striking canopy which offers outdoor dining for 36 pupils.
Second project - 2021
The school was so impressed with the product from the first phase of works, that it asked Langley Design to return in January 2021 to install another timber canopy - this time a covered walkway, again manufactured from galvanised steel and timber to give a continuous feel across the site.
The company's bespoke design approach was vital in achieving the client's vision. Langley Design was tasked with fixing part of the canopy to the building, then offsetting a leg to allow the unit to run parallel.
Outcome
Langley Design’s one-stop-shop approach from the initial design stage, through to manufacture and dedicated site teams installing the finished goods, enabled the company to offer an extremely high level of service throughout the project's timeline.
