Context

Established in 1938, Hillington Park is one of Scotland’s largest business parks and home to over 500 organisations employing over 8000 people. Founded on manufacturing and engineering, the Park has grown through new development and regeneration and today houses key business clusters in automotive, construction and building products, transport, health and technology.

Project detail

As part of its drive for a safer and sustainable area for businesses and staff, Hillington Park initially trialled 10 Velo-Safe bike lockers in 2017. These proved extremely popular and, as a result, another 30 lockers were ordered, and installed at the end of Sept 2019 in banks of 4 to 8 lockers throughout the park, providing cyclists with parking near their buildings.

A benefit of using the Velo-Safe locker on a site such as Hillington Park is the numerous ways they can be configured. Designed to be space-efficient and versatile, they can be arranged to best utilise the space available. The actual layouts were decided by the Park in conjunction with the experienced Cycle-Works installation team.
