Challenge
As part of the tender process, Wicksteed was asked by Telford & Wrekin Council to provide a design for a play area for toddlers and juniors at Apley Castle which was to include a castle-themed multi-play unit.
The play area is located in a new housing development and Wicksteed had to use the limited space provided to create a design which was robust, required limited maintenance, featured a range of play equipment for children aged 2 to 10, and was in-keeping with the natural backdrop.
Solution
The play area features two bespoke castle-themed multi-play units: a Tree Top Towers Copa unit with a stainless steel slide; and a Little Miss Muffet unit from the Nursery Rhymes Range.
A two-bay Viking Swing was also included with two flats, one cradle and one adult/child seat, a Glow Worm see-saw, Comet roundabout and Galaxy Springie.
The play area is fenced and finished with wet pour surfacing throughout.
