Langley Design was chosen by the contractor, Boshers, to design, manufacture and install a bespoke oak pergola at Basildon Crematorium, to give visitors a place to reflect on the lives of loved ones.
Set in 18 acres of countryside with views of the River Thames and Kent, the crematorium offers a peaceful and rural setting for the people of South East Essex. The grounds were carefully designed to ensure that the natural landscape is preserved and the crematorium is said to be amongst the most environmentally-friendly in Europe.
Project details
Given the sympathetic nature of the project, Langley spared no expense in creating a structure that combined powder-coated galvanised steel shoes with stunning European oak that complements the cladding on the building.
The pergola fits in beautifully with the newly landscaped areas.
