Overview

Addagrip approved contractor Total Protection (GB) Ltd used 600sqm of Terrabase Rustic surfacing for paving works at a prestigous property on the outskirts of Brentwood in Essex.

Requirement

The client wanted a natural-looking surface, in keeping with the style of the house and extensive grounds, that would provide pathways and a driveway with a decorative but resilient finish.

Work undertaken

Existing concrete pathways throughout the grounds of the garden area were showing signs of cracking. Total Protection advised that the concrete be removed and replaced with a well-compacted loose aggregate to provide a suitable substrate for Terrabase Rustic resin bound porous paving. The surface finish of this system provides the aesthetic required by the client and eliminates the risk of future cracking due to its flexibility.

Terrabase Rustic was also installed on a driveway to one of the dwellings on the estate. An asphalt substrate had previously been laid by others, so it was ready to receive the Terrabase Rustic system.

The client selected a Terrabase Rustic ‘Oak’ blend which was installed to a combined area of 605sqm to the driveway and pathway areas to the main gardens.

Works was carried out over 6 days in June 2019.

Outcome

The addition of Terrabase Rustic to the driveway and pathway offers the perfect frame to the ornamental ponds and extensive gardens. The client was delighted with the results, stating: “it looks even more amazing than we’d imagined.”
