Three bespoke public artworks designed, constructed and installed by Broadbent Studio, tell a story of the history of the movie industry as part of the Heritage Trail in Leavesden Country Park, Hertfordshire.

  • A Trick of the Light: a fully operational zoetrope, featuring Charlie Chaplin movies images which come to life when spun by members of the public. Carved in granite with a steel spinning mechanism.
  • Kiss of the Screen Gods: a moment of cinematic drama, captured and placed on a pedestal - but is it all an illusion? Palladium-leafed resin relief upon a carved stone column.
  • Where Every Moment Shines: the charged setting of a film set is brought into the park for anyone to become the star and director of their own story. Terrazzo floors set the stage for a fabricated steel chair and carved marble suitcase.
