Bespoke steel planters
IOTA was commissioned to supply bespoke steel planters for a central location at Embassy Gardens in London, directly opposite the iconic United States Embassy building.
The planters enclose the outdoor seating area of Darby’s – a new restaurant by award-winning chef Robin Gill, based on immersive Irish cuisine, and featuring an oyster bar, on-site bakery and open-fire cooking. Darby’s is located only yards from the main entrance to the US Embassy, and beneath the iconic Sky Pool, on a landscaped piazza which is guaranteed to become the central cultural hub of Embassy Gardens.
In-Ex Landscapes commissioned 52 planters, including rectangular, trapezoid, and L-shaped designs. The planters were manufactured from 2.0mm zintec steel and polyester powder coated to RAL 9004 [Signal black].
Embassy Gardens is a riverside development by EcoWorld Ballymore in the heart of Nine Elms; whose revitalisation, masterplanned by Sir Terry Farrell, has been described by the Mayor of London as “possibly the most important regeneration story in London and in the UK over the next twenty years”. Embassy Gardens surrounds the iconic United States Embassy building which creates the cultural anchor for the district. Directly across the river from Pimlico, and the nearby regeneration of Battersea Power Station, Embassy Gardens is the centrepiece of the last great new district in the centre of London.
