We are being asked more and more to complete bespoke products using a variety of non-standard finished materials.
Corten steel has been growing in popularity for the last 2 decades and has become a mainstay for many artists, architects and designers.
Each year we are completing more products in this material as well as other materials that are supplied in their bare, untreated and unpainted states.
This group of metals shares the characteristic that they don't readily 'rot away' if left untreated/unpainted. Instead they passivate and/or oxidise - or both, essentially creating a seal on the surface which patinas over time, leading to a range of pleasing colours and textures. This offers the designer/artist/architect another layer of creativity - a product that is one thing when new, but has a dynamic design life that perseveres as long as the product itself lasts.
- Corten steel
- Gun metals
- Bronzes
- Irons
- Aluminiums
- Ally bronzes
- Brasses
- Phosphor bronze
- Silica bronze
