Context
The world’s largest dairy company built a new factory in Buckinghamshire, UK which includes a manufacturing plant, distribution centre and car parks.
Requirement
The client found that road markings on the brand new walkways and lorry bays, painted just a few months prior, were not performing – they were flaking and chipping up. They needed a road marking system that was going to last.
The project goals were to:
- install line marking that would last
- achieve brightly coloured and crisp lines
- complete the installation quickly to minimise downtime
Work undertaken
The Meon team spent a great deal of time on location assessing what was best for the dairy site and which products would provide the best results. The decision was taken to supply a fully sprayable MMA system which cures quickly and is fast to lay.
The chosen system did not require any hot works or large machinery which meant costs could be kept down. Another advantage is that the MMA system can be laid in a short amount of time minimising the impact to business.
Outcome
Having spent time with the site staff and providing expert advice, Meon was able to ensure that the line marking was functional, bright and long lasting.
Meon provided the necessary training and support to the team for the lining process.
The areas to be marked were primed with UltraPrime before the lines were completed with Spectrum products in both yellow and white.
