Requirement

Addagrip approved contractor True Grip Ltd was invited to install a total of 2,681m2 of resin bonded gravel to rejuvenate roadways at the former Peninsula Barracks in Winchester, Hampshire.

The historic Ministry of Defence site was partly relinquished in 1994 for private residential use with the area of the former parade ground landscaped and renamed Peninsula Square.

True Grip was asked to install a decorative, hard-wearing aggregate surface to the new tarmacadam roadways for residential areas and the adjacent Gurkha Museum.

Product supplied

In keeping with the heritage of this site, Addastone Plus resin bonded surfacing was selected in a bespoke aggregate to complement the red brick properties.

Outcome

Addastone Plus resin bonded gravel provides the look of loose aggregate without the maintenance issues and provides a durable paving option with good slip resistance, suitable for vehicular traffic and pedestrian use alike.

The surfacing was completed in November 2018.
