Context
Livingreen manufactured and supplied all the furniture and fittings for a show garden attached to Cala luxury residential accommodation at the rear of the former Donaldson's Hospital building in Edinburgh.
The requirement was to create a show-stopping luxury garden that was also as light as a feather as it was located on the roof of the development's car park. In addition, the area was an awkward long triangle shape, with a 4m-high stone retaining wall along one side.
Work undertaken
Livingreen designed and manufactured a range of luxury faux corten steel garden features for the project.
The garden was divided into a series of separate rooms with screened planters filled with artificial bamboo.
Organic shaped "Blob" containers and standard planters were situated throughout the show garden. These were filled with artificial planting and lightweight planting medium in keeping with the strict loading requirements for the site.
The 4m-high stone retaining wall was fitted with faux corten steel panels and mirrors and feature wall panels complete with artificial planting.
Livingreen also designed and manufactured lightweight GRP outdoor furniture with timber inserts for the garden. These were coloured to match the RAL shade of the external window frames of the apartments.
Outcome
All the garden features combined to create a bespoke luxury garden in keeping with the high-end location. Cala was delighted with the installation which met all the criteria for the site and resulted in an stylish outdoor space for marketing the apartments.
