NFU Mutual, the owner of the Brewery Quarter, has completed a £30m makeover of the area, creating a high-profile retail corridor which links many of the restaurants and shops.
Work undertaken
Benchmark Design was asked to create a number of S-shaped benches for a broad walkway to bring some variation to the space. Centreline CL007 stainless steel benches were selected as their organic, flowing design brings some visual interest to the relatively linear area.
Working with the client Benchmark curved the tubes to a bespoke radius and length. With two width options being available (600 or 450mm) they opted for the wider to allow shoppers to access seating from both sides.
Grade 316 stainless steel seating was selected for this extremely busy area as it is a robust material that is perfect for high footfall areas. Stainless steel requires little to no maintenance, is often self-cleaning, will outlast timber counterparts, and is 100% recyclable.
