Context

Rycroft Middle School and Dove First School were both relocated to a new, purpose-built facility on a single campus. The facility was officially opened in September 2016.

Challenge

As part of the project brief, the architects needed to preserve each school's own identity whilst situating them both at the same location. In the final design, both schools are linked together via communal gathering areas, which are located centrally for ease of access.

Products used

NatraTex supplied 500m2 of its NatraTex Cotswold surfacing for the multi-use games areas (MUGAs), footpaths and communal spaces.

Key benefits

NatraTex Cotswold retains its natural colour by using less pigment compared to its sister product, NatraTex Colour. This allows for a lasting finish that remains colourful and durable.

NatraTex is a fully-bonded hard landscaping material, and not a resin. It shares similar characteristics with conventional macadam, being laid the same way and to the same depth with sub-layers (base and binder course).
