Context

The Crossrail Place roof garden at Canary Wharf sits two storeys above the North Dock of West India Quay, and is now one of London's biggest sky gardens. The enclosed garden features a range of tropical plants, situated around a curving footpath, which leads visitors through the space.

Products used

Kinley's AluExcel edging was to edge the garden's footpaths.

Kinley supplied its AluExcel flexible aluminium edging in both the 25mm and 65mm formats. A total of 285 lengths of edging were used. The edging was installed along several curved pathways which lead visitors around the garden.

Key benefits

Due to its strong, flexible properties, AluExcel was able to withstand the high levels of pedestrian traffic whilst having enough flexibility to fit the shape of the curved paths.

Installation was also straightforward, since unlike traditional concrete edging, AluExcel does not require any foundations or support. This saved time on the project.
