Challenge

After obtaining Heritage Lottery funding, Cannock Chase District Council wanted to refurbish Hednesford Park with new play and teen areas, a skate area, access paths and a pavilion.

Solution

Proludic was chosen as the preferred partner, using the local mining heritage and nature reserve as the main inspiration for their design submission.

Proludic included several unique features in the design that blended in with the existing natural environment:

  • a large central seating area in the shape of a mining wheel
  • a large Amazon-themed multi-play tower creating a key focal point
  • a hand pump which works along the river bed

A parkour and dynamic play zone has been created in the teen zone to give older children a hub for acitivity and fun.
