Bespoke seating for HVM at railway station
Factory Furniture supplied a bespoke version of its Soca bench to the new Cambridge North railway station to provide plaza seating for the front of the station. Manufactured from FSC Cumaru wood mounted onto concrete plinths, this attractive and functional seating also acts as a hostile vehicle mitigation for the station

Context
Cambridge North Station serves over 3000 passengers a day and has created a new gateway to Cambridge and its northern edges.
The new station is a strikingly designed space and it was important to select stylish and functional street furniture for its plaza.
Products supplied
Factory Furniture supplied several bespoke versions of its Soca bench to create plaza seating for customers. These were manufactured from FSC Cumaru, mounted onto concrete plinths, and arranged in series to prevent vehicle access to the station area. The attractive and functional seating is thus able to function as hostile vehicle mitigation at the station.
