A series of bespoke steel planters were manufactured for the landmark New Bailey development in Salford, a new riverside development in Greater Manchester. Described as a ‘vibrant riverside setting’ with inspired architecture, the planters were designed as a moveable, multifunctional element of the landscaping scheme, and were supplied with 95mm (h) runners at the base to allow for easy movement via forklift or pallet truck. Rootball anchor points were provided to allow for tree planting.
The large square planters were a fixed size of 940mm (l) x 940mm (w) and 700mm (h). Manufactured from 2.0mm-thick Zintec steel and polyester powder-coated to Mars 2525 Sable from the powder coating specialist Interpon’s Futura 2014-2017 range. The natural ‘rust-effect’ finish was selected in harmony with the overall design aesthetic of the local architecture and adjacent seating.
