Addacolor Resin Bound Logo Installation

Addagrip were pleased to be involved in the creation of a bespoke resin bound logo feature at the Isle of Man Motor Museum in Jurby.

Located on the former RAF Jurby site, the purpose-built museum houses a collection of over 400 vehicles and opened in May 2015. As part of the external surfacing scheme, the client sought a distinctive feature to enhance the entrance area and reflect the identity of the Isle of Man.

Surfacing Requirements

The brief called for a decorative yet durable surface capable of forming a large-scale logo feature. The installation needed to provide a smooth, hard-wearing finish suitable for light vehicular use, while achieving precise colour matching to meet the client’s design requirements.

Addagrip’s Addacolor resin bound system was specified to deliver a bespoke solution, with colours matched to the required RAL tones.

Installation

Addagrip approved contractor Quest Landscape Services was appointed to install the feature. The design consisted of a 12-metre diameter Isle of Man triskelion logo, formed using a combination of green and white Addacolor blends.

A template was carefully designed and fixed in place to ensure accuracy of the pattern. The green background was installed first, followed by the white detailing for the three-leg emblem and surrounding circular elements, creating a precise and seamless finish across the feature area.

The installation was completed onto a porous concrete base, with edging incorporated to define the space and create a subtle raised ‘stage’ for vehicle display.

Installation Outcome

The completed logo provides a striking and highly decorative focal point within the museum grounds, combining visual impact with durability and low maintenance.

This project demonstrates the flexibility of Addacolor, which can be matched to specific RAL colours to deliver bespoke designs for branding, wayfinding, and feature installations.
