Leisure destinations within the UK are increasingly looking for innovative ways to improve their facilities for their visitors, whether upgraded or new facilities in caravan parks or new rides at theme parks. A common feature which all leisure facilities share is the requirement for a power source for their outdoor areas.

Pop Up Power Supplies® offer a range of retractable service units which are increasingly being specified and installed at leisure facilities throughout the UK. These power units offer a reliable and secure power supply for outdoor stalls, and the retractable nature of the units mean that when they are not in use they are simply retracted back into the ground, thus having a minimal impact on the surrounding environment.

Powering leisure facilities

Pop Up Power Supplies® supply a range of innovative retractable power units for outdoor areas, in the form of pop up units, in-ground / flip lid units and power bollards. For the leisure industry, the pop up and flip lid units are particularly popular due to their retractable nature where they can be raised or lowered easily for just when they are needed. The power units also provide a safe and silent source of electricity (the in-ground units can be operated with the lid locked down). Also their ability to blend seamlessly into the local environment, as their lids can accommodate various paving and landscaping materials e.g. turf.

The pop up power units provide robust power sockets that provide a power supply from 16A to 125A in both single and three phase, all with RCBO protection. Housed within sturdy concrete and cast iron casings, the power units are simply lowered into position (with only light excavation needed to dig the hole). The unit covers are made up of stainless steel AISI304 and offer significant protection to the power units when they are fully retracted. Operating the pop up electric sockets is easy - they are simply raised and lowered using a detachable handle.

The in-ground or flip lid units are specially contained units which house electricity sockets, water supply and data connections. These units can be operated with the lids locked down which minimises any trip hazards for nearby pedestrians, and provide round-the-clock power for days, weeks and even months on end. The flip lid units are easy to operate, with the lids raised and lowered manually with gas strut assisted.

Manufactured from high-grade mild steel, the in-ground units conform to various UK Building Standards and regulations. They are hot dip galvanised to BS EN: ISO1461 and the covers are tested (unfilled) to FACTA Class B Loading.
