As part of the Tom Stuart-Smith designed roof terrace at the iconic Verde SW1 building in London, IOTA supplied a total of 21 large zinc-clad planters. The Grade A office space development was managed by Tishman Speyer with landscape architects Bowles & Wyer, who approached IOTA for a planting solution to cover two of the six terraces.

The planters were specified in a variety of different dimensions, most of which were relatively large with lengths between 3500 mm and 5100 mm. Due to the size of the planters they were manufactured from 1.2 mm zinc that was clad onto 2mm zintec steel, this ensures they provide enough strength and stability to hold their shape without being too heavy for the terrace structure.

The planters were applied with a patina finish to compliment the surrounding maturing gardens, and over time this patina will lighten and highlight tonal variation in the finish.

IOTA also manufactured and supplied the zinc cladding for the water feature that lies at the heart of one of the terrace gardens.
