The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, with a capacity of 12,000 seating and 13,000 standing, is the biggest performance arena ever designed by Foster + Partners. The £125m concert venue forms part of a post-industrial regeneration along the once neglected Clyde waterfront.

The dramatic structure takes the form of a skewed dome, spanning 120 metres, with external walls clad in translucent air-filled ETFE cushions that can create a dazzling illuminated facade.

An elevated walkway forms one of the main points of access to the venue. Lang+Fulton supplied infill panels made from Micro-34 architectural grating for the balustrade, and the galvanised finish and rectilinear appearance complement the surrounding buildings.

The northern perimeter of the site has been secured using a Roma-3 grating fence and entrance gates to maintain overall continuity for the project.

In addition, a series of Roma-3 compounds were designed for the secure storage of deliveries for the Events Catering Department.
