After three years of planning, design and construction, the final stages of Garfield Primary School were completed by CLD approved contractor ABC Fencing on behalf of J Murphy and Sons Ltd. The new school fencing and gate systems, designed and manufactured by CLD, include Exempla and Dulok Rebound.

The contract was tendered and won by J Murphy and Sons Ltd who used the Approved Contractors Scheme (ACS) from CLD Fencing Systems to tender for a supply and install package for the fencing. As a member of the ACS, ABC Fencing was successful in winning the fencing packages for Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the project.

Phase 1 covered the construction of a new school building and campus; Phase 2 covered the demolition of the existing structures and construction of play and landscaping areas.

Work undertaken

CLD Fencing Systems worked with the London Borough of Enfield and WS Atkins Ltd to design a school fencing package that would meet the requirements of the brand-new school building as part of a brownfield project.

The project required many aspects of the fencing and gates to be manufactured at CLD's plant in Cheshire, with a number of bespoke cranked posts, gates and features produced for delivery to site. All fencing was galvanised and polyester powder coated in RAL 7035 to create a bespoke fencing system to fit in with the landscape plan.
