Branson Leisure was contacted by Salisbury Cathedral because they had been having problems with vandals kicking and damaging the back slats of their existing hardwood benches. They needed a more resilient solution.

The 1.8m Greenwich bench was selected as an option because it is designed to be vandal resistant.

The backslats, which are the weakest part, have been removed and an extra middle rail added.

Branson Leisure also added a central vertical rail with notches to house the main rails. This part is glued and screwed from the back to strengthen and tie the whole back section of the bench together.

30 Greenwich Benches were supplied to Salisbury Cathedral.
