Resin bound surface renews local walkway in Portsmouth
DekorGrip Resin Bound surfacing was used to great effect to upgrade a major walkway in Portsmouth. The surface was designed to create a cohesive effect and to provide a pleasant surrounding for gathering students and other customers of the local businesses.
A major connecting walkway between the University of Portsmouth and the city centre was in major need of refurbishment. Wear and tear was becoming a major issue. The old surface consisted mainly of tarmac and paving slabs and the deterioration of these had created many trip hazards. The whole area needed to be cohesively brought together.
Solution
DekorGrip Resin Bound was selected as the primary solution, with Natural Wicker the desired blend. In order to create a more bespoke and interesting finish, the Coral Flair blend was selected to be laid in a ribbon shape through the middle of the design.
Outcome
The DekorGrip Resin Bound was used to great effect to upgrade the whole area, with the different colours weaving through the centre of the pavement. Designed to provide a pleasant surrounding for gathering students, the surface was also warmly welcomed by local businesses as it created a far better seating area for their customers.
