Context

St Catherine’s Hospice - first park to be developed in South Ribble for more than 40 years - formally opened its grounds to members of the public.

St Catherine’s worked with South Ribble Borough Council and local Rotary Clubs to connect the hospice’s grounds to neighbouring land known as Dandy Brook. The extended St Catherine’s parkland – incorporating a nature trail, woodland, bridges over the River Lostock, signage and accessible pathways – leads from the hospice’s stone-built café, The Mill, to a striking World War 1 memorial.

Work undertaken

As part of this project, bespoke metal gates were commissioned from DP Studio for the walled gardens - with the sign "Welcome to all".
