Challenge

After extensive renovation to their 1930’s property, the client was looking for a decorative surfacing system that would provide a contemporary, low-maintenance finish to the newly-created driveway area at the front of the house. Having installed beautiful new wooden floors throughout, it was essential that the external surface did not have any loose aggregate that could be walked into the entrance hall.

As well as an aesthetically pleasing finish, the paving needed to be porous. Building Regulations stipulated a fully SuDS compliant system to ensure maximum porosity.

Solution

The client selected BBA approved Addaset resin bound porous surfacing with a porous base build-up of AC14 open surface asphalt and compacted MOT Type 3 allowing water to drain through the surface and sub-base into the ground beneath.

Addagrip approved contractor True Grip installed 110sqm of Addaset 6mm Chocolate Buff aggregate blend which was continued into the porch area and around the newly planted borders, providing a seamless and practical paving for the entrance to the property.

Result

The client is delighted with the result and the workmanship - "The team from True Grip were very professional. Our new driveway looks great!"
