Total Protection (GB) Ltd
1025sqm of Addastone resin bonded surfacing has been installed by Addagrip approved contractor Total Protection (GB) Ltd at Phase 2 of a residential housing scheme in Milton Keynes.
This Crest Nicholson Regeneration project at Ouzel Island consists of a collection of 18 highly exclusive 4 and 5 bedroom detached homes. Soft earthy coloured bricks, large glass windows and slate roofs give the buildings their distinct character and it was essential that the access roads to the houses reflected the high standard of the design and build.
With an aim to ensure that the new estate would harmonise perfectly with the area’s rural surroundings, Crest Nicholson required a decorative surfacing using a natural aggregate for the private roads that resembled a rural loose gravel surface that was hard-wearing and low-maintenance.
Addastone resin bonded surfacing with a 1-3mm Autumn Gold aggregate was selected. To minimise disruption the surfacing was installed over 6 non-consecutive days to ensure house owners retained access to the estate.
Addastone gives the appearance of loose aggregate without the maintenance issues of loose stone and is a decorative option for asphalt surfacing, giving private access roads to this estate a natural, rural feel.
Installation completed April 2016
