The booms are 3 metres long and boom lights provide visibility. The torque motors on the barriers have 100% duty rating, are instantly reversible and constantly energised, which provides security locking and protection against low temperatures and damp conditions.
Frontier Pitts provided car height pedestals where intercom voice controls were mounted. Safety autoclose vehicle induction loops within the ground provide safe closure of the barriers once a vehicle had passed through.
