Context

Alice Holt is a Forestry Commission site based in Farnham, offering picturesque walks, a coffee shop, and a Stickman trail, as well as a Go Ape climbing course.

Visitor Centre Manager, Julian Williams, wanted to develop the play area with a natural-looking balancing course that would resemble and complement the existing Go Ape set-up. It was important that the new play area catered for everyone from toddlers to young teenagers - between ages 5-14.

One of the key factors for Julian and his team was that the children could get from one end of the equipment to the other, without touching the ground – one seamless transition across the installed units.

Work undertaken

In late 2015, eibe Play competed in a tender process and was subsequently awarded the scheme for development of the play area in Spring 2016.

The subsequent adventure course is highly challenging and features various high and low rope structures, some bold towers, ladders, slides and complex crosses
