Sportsmark was contracted to level the bowling green and install new bank and ditch units for Thames Bowls Club at Fondu Sports Club in Thurrock. 

Thames Bowls Club previously had very poor illegal ditches and banks, as well as a serious slope across the green.

Work undertaken

  • Levelling the green, which required raising the height to about 40% of the green.
  • Sportsmark 'County' concrete ditch units were installed to the new levels.
  • Several paths were re-laid.
  • Banks were covered with a 15mm curled tuft artificial grass
  • Wrapping the artificial grass over the top of the banks
  • Supplying Hedgehog III liners for the bottom of the ditch
