Branson Leisure made a bespoke oak archway for the entrance to the Gardens of Remembrance in Church Square, Basingstoke.
The gardens were being refurbished and as the existing frame was very old and in a bad state, repairing was not an option.
Branson Leisure was able to make a replacement arch to the exact specification as the original.
Only the overall height and width were provided, so the rest of the dimensions were scaled from photos to get a perfect match.
The frame was made from European air-dried oak with traditional mortise and tenon joints, which were also dowelled. The top piece was laminated in three pieces of 120mm thick oak to achieve the curve and engraved with REMEMBRANCE on both faces.
Rocon Contractors Ltd installed the arch frame for Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council.
